Canton Stevedoring began operations in Baltimore in 1998. Through personalized customer service and an impeccable safety record, the company has grown into a premier stevedore and warehouse operator with multiple locations. Our main business at the beginning was handling imported non-ferrous metals but quickly diversified to include break-bulk steel products, palletized cargo and project cargo.
In 2007, due to demand by our break-bulk shippers and receivers, we constructed a 168,000 square foot pier side warehouse. In 2010, we commenced bulk cargo operations, further expanding our portfolio of services to the transportation industry.
In 2011, Canton Stevedoring expanded outside of Baltimore through our Third Party Facility Management service. In 2017, the company dredged Canton Pier 11 to 39′ feet in order to give customers another deep water berth option. In 2018, American Equity Underwriters awarded Canton Stevedoring with the Marine Cargo Handling Safety Award for the company’s strong commitment to safety in the workplace. In 2019, Canton Stevedoring continues to invest in new technology, equipment and personnel to ensure our customers have a permanent partner.
Our mission is to provide safe and professional terminal, stevedoring and warehouse services with a keen understanding of our customers’ needs.
From the outset, the company mantra was customer driven service. Our customer service personnel along with our core group of stevedores and warehousemen have provided this service since the very beginning. We listen to our customers at every level whether it be the bidding process, documentation instructions, handling procedures or other operational instructions. No detail is overlooked or deemed unimportant.
